•  Do you need to be a caring and compassionate congregation?  Call us for capacity building seminars in pastoral care and counseling issues. We help you organize workshops at congregational level and do the seminars at your church on pastoral care and counseling issues.

 Pastoral Care and Counselling Services Centre Philosophy

The Pastoral Counseling Services Centre provides support to anyone in need regardless of religion, gender, ethnicity or race.

• The pastoral care and counseling service’s process is based on warmth and trusting human relationships, rooted in the Christian tradition and its values.

• Empowering clients to direct their own lives is an essential outcome of the process used: it is the client's task, not the counselor's, to articulate and resolve his or her ambivalences.

• Information shared by the client is held in strict confidence among the professional helpers; no information is made available to anyone outside the centre without written consent, except as required by law and or when the situation is life threatening to the client and/or other people.

• The Centre networks with other professional and community services and makes referrals where appropriate and desired by the client.

• Prayer is pivotal to the Centre’s activities: counselors accompany their clients by regularly and earnestly praying for them (Luke 22:31-32).

Counselors are carefully selected for their personal integrity and are expected to uphold high moral and ethical standards in their personal and professional lives.

 The Coordinator - Founder

 M. Mazvita Machinga (M.A.)

Mazvita Machinga, has the passion of serving the marginalized , underpriviledged  and people in crisis.  She has spent 15 years working with underpriviledged people , abused, abandoned and neglected children . Mazvita has trained in Clinical Crisis Care . She has specialised in working with people in crisis and trauma recovery . Mazvita is  a certified pre-release counselor  and spiritual care giver with the the Zimbabwe Prison Services through the Prison Fellowship Zimbabwe.  She is a great speaker and advocate for spiritual care  and clergy in-service capacity development . She is a visionary and hard working individual who upholds the vision and mission of the Pastoral Care Centre . Mazvita loves to work with pastors, congregations and other religiuos organizations on pastoral care issues. Together we create caring and passionate church communities . Mazvita is a clinical supervisor through Zimbabwe Institute of Systemic Therapy ( CONNECT) . She holds a Masters of Theology with a major in Pastoral Psychotherapy. Currently pursuing Ph. D  studies in Pastoral Pyschotherapy .

Rev. Christopher Maphosa (B.Sc)

The Rev. Christopher Maphosa is an ordained clergy in the United Baptist Church . He loves to serve people and bring people to God. He holds a diploma in Biblical Studies  and a Bachelor of Science in Counseling. Chris is committed to the work of the Pastroal care and is a blessing to the centre. He loves to see the centre achieving its intended mission. Currently ,  Christopher is studying Masters of Science  in Counseling. He is a valuable contributor to  the PCCC  Executive Committee.

Rev Dr. Gift K. Machinga ( D.Min)

The Rev. Dr. Gift Machinga is an ordained clergy in the United Methodist Church. He holds a Doctoral Degree with a major in Christian Education. He loves the teaching ministry of the church. He comes to the Pastoral Centre as a valuable companion to our teaching programs and advisor on spiritual issues. We cherish and acknowledge his spiritual and  moral support.

 Dr. Sue Beck ( Ph.D)

The Rev. Dr. Sue A Beck is an ordained Deacon within the Episcopal Church-USA. She has a Master of Divinity degree  and is a trained Spiritual Director. She is the Deacon at St. John the Divine, Costa Mesa, and works as a forensic psychologist for the County of Orange  in CA. Pastor Sue has been formally trained in psychology and offers a blend of theological and symbolic material in understanding our faith journey. Her career has followed a path of working with crime victims, children and people involved in the judicial system. Her background as a Forensic Psychologist gives her a unique perspective into the ways people process information and form opinions and decisions. Pastor Sue is a great speaker and educator who has given seminars across the United States and internationally .She teaches courses on Christian meditation, Cultural Spirituality, the Spirituality of Religious Icons, and Finding God in the Midst of Crisis and Chaos.

  Mr Robert Beck 

Very passionate christian who enjoys writing and editing work.Offers tremendous support and  contribution to the Pastoral Care and Counseling Centre services. Helps to keep PCCC documentation in  good form.
