Services offered in 2007-2009
A total of 325 pastors from various faith groups and organizations have received training in pastoral care skills in areas such as :
- pre-marital education
- grief and bereavement counseling
- the role of hospital , school and prison chaplains
- HIV and AIDS - the impact of the church's response
- healing and reconciliation - the role of the church
A total of 29 individuals were offered with individual counselling
- 10 Male Adults
- 11 Female Adults
- 5 Boys
- 3 Girls
Group counseling was given to 2000 prisoners, 100 youth/ young adults . Topics covered were such as:
- Peer pressure
- reformation and rehabilitation
- responsibility and accountability
- stress management
NEW SERVICE PROVIDED AT PCCC
The Pastoral Care and Counseling Services Centre has a library of religious books that will soon be made available for clergy , church leaders and any interested individuals to borrow for a limited period ot time. We encourage you to come and borrow a book as soon as the project begins , remember learning does not end.Continous services provided

In responds to the call for national healing and reconciliation in Zimbabwe the church has mission to fulfill
Workshop held 3-6 November 2009

Participants attending a capacity development workshop for religious leaders
A 3 day workshop for clergy and church leaders was held to equip church leaders with skills to help hundreds of people in their communities as they undergo the process of healing and reconciliation
- 85 Participants consisting of religious Leaders
- Representatives from 35 denominations/ religious groups
- Representatives from Zimbabwe Council of Churches Manicaland, Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe Manicaland , Catholic Commission of Justice and Peace Manicaland , Mutare Ministers' Fraternal and NANGO , Traditional leaders,
- Government department invited : Zimbabwe Republic Police Manicaland, Department of Social Services Manicaland and the Governor's office
- Survivors of political violence attended the workshop.
The participants came from 6 Manicaland Province districts namely Mutare, Chipinge , Chimanimani, Nyanga, Makoni and Mutasa.
The purpose of the workshop was to promote and strengthen the healing and reconciliation activities by equipping religious leaders and community leaders with skills to facilitate the healing process in local communities in Zimbabwe.
The following objectives were achieved at the workshop
- Sharing of various ways the church is helping people in communities heal and reconcile.
- Discussing ways to strengthen the helpful strategies and approaches already implemented in communities inorder to strengthen the process of healing and reconciliation.
Discussing of options and mechanisms available for healing and reconciliation in the context of local communities, benchmarked with best practices obtained in other countries.
Recognizing the devastating effects of traumatic experiences people faced and promoting healing.
